Beef-Pumpkin Chili

Beef-Pumpkin Chili
2 lbs Ground Beef, thawed
12oz Pumpkin Puree
3 small Onions, diced
1 large Turnip, chopped
1-1/2 cup Beef Stock
2 tsp Cumin
1 tsp Corriander
2 tsp Cocoa Powder
1 tsp Garlic

Optional: Other veggies and beans

1. Start by browning your ground beef in a skillet on the stove.
2. In a crockpot, place your Beef Stock, Pumpkin Puree, and Spices.
3. Dice your onions and throw these into the crockpot.
4. Chop up the turnip into bite-size chunks.  Put them onto a foil lined cookie sheet.  Drizzle some olive oil, salt, and pepper over the turnip chunks.  Bake in the oven at 375F for 20 minutes.
5. While you wait for your meat to finish browning, be sure to check it every few minutes, you can add other veggies or beans if you would like.  Here are some ideas: yellow squash, zucchini, carrots, kidney beans, lima beans, tomato, squash, and green beans.
6. Add your ground beef to the crockpot.  Make sure your crockpot is stirred and leave it on high for an hour - then serve and eat!

The pumpkin in this chili makes the meal rich in flavor, but the pumpkin flavor is almost completely masked.
