Book 2: Va-Va-Voom! & A Little Embroidery

Va-Va-Voom! by Chris Chang

This is a fun book featuring a ton of pin ups.  I picked this up at Barnes & Noble in the bargain book area.  I enjoy looking through this.  As an artist, if I need a pin up pose, this is a good source.  As someone who would like to do more pin up modeling, it is a great resource for that too.

Today I sat down with a black shirt I made (kind of like Rizzo's black diner shirt) and embroidered "Sweet Thang" onto it.  Its a nickname an old Texan gave me.  I printed out some various fonts reading "Sweet Thang" and then used a chalk pencil to write it out on the shirt.  I have a bag of embroidery thread and went with a pink coral for the words and a light blue and light pink for the decoration.

I don't knit or crochet.  I sew and apparently I'm not too shabby with embroidery.

  1. I flipped through that book last time I was at B&N, I might pick it up for when I want art reference.
And your embroidery is so cute!!!

    1. Thanks Carla! I definitely like how this book has all kinds of pin ups - classic, holiday, even "newer" stuff from the 70s.
