#1 DIY Men's "Greased Lightning" T-Shirt

I know that rockabilly projects for men are far and few between, so this is the first of 3 projects geared towards men.  I'll post one a week over the next few Saturdays.  I'd like to present the DIY for a Grease T-Shirt.  My favorite musical piece from the film Grease is "Greased Lightning".

What You Will Need:
  • Black T-Shirt
  • 1 package Round Studs (with prongs)
  • Pencil/Chalk
  • Ruler or Tape Measure
A t-shirt and round studs.  Easily found at craft and fabric stores.

Roll the sleeves 4 times, just like I have.
Gently push a stud through the top crease of the sleeve, holding the roll in place.

You can easily push the prong backs down with your fingernail.

From the top stud, measure and mark 1" to 1-1/2" increments.  This is where you will place your studs.

Push your studs through and close the prongs on each mark you made.  I used 1" increments here.
Once you're done with the front half of the sleeve, be sure to get the backside.

Here is the finished t-shirt.  Just like Travolta's!
I want to point out that I didn't put studs on the collar.  This is because it would really be scratchy when you wear it and it would catch your hair when you put it on.  I recommend NO studs on the collar.

If you would like one of these shirts, I have 5 on etsy (1 Med, 2 Large, 2 XL).  Click Here for the Etsy Shop.

Please share this on pinterest or facebook or anything else!
