Vintage Skills & Prepping

Yesterday you saw my post about putting together a bug out bag/box (BOB is the prepper term).  Today I want to tell you why it is important for those living the vintage life.

People who live the vintage life tend to have a lot of reflection from WWII.  It was during this time that prepping was just part of life.  People had victory gardens and learned to can/preserve food.  Some families even had bomb shelters.  Skills learned during this time are considered very valuable to preppers.

Some skills you may have that you never thought about:
  • Camping & Basic Outdoor Skills
  • Gardening
  • Cooking/Baking
  • Canning/Food Preservation
  • Doing things manually
  • Farm work
  • Factory skills (working as a group towards a goal)
  • Fishing & Hunting
  • Mechanical skills
  • Woodworking
  • Communication (actual conversation with people - not through a technology device)
  • First Aid
  • Sewing and Knitting

What are your skills?
